Defence technology startup, ZeroMark, has announced a USD7M seed funding round. The investment will boost the development of ZeroMark’s AI-powered auto-aiming system, which is designed to modify standard infantry rifles into counter-drone systems without impeding their functionality.
The company’s mission is to enable every soldier to be equipped with a portable counter-drone system. ZeroMark’s technology integrates advanced computer vision and precision robotics with conventional firearms. The system physically augments the operator’s aim, enabling them to engage low altitude drone threats. The company says that the technology can be installed on any standard carbine or rifle without tools, and features real-time threat analytics, identification of friend vs foe, and automatic aim augmentation.
In a LinkedIn post, ZeroMark said the funding was led by Katherine Boyle of Andreessen Horowitz and Jordan Odinsky of Ground Up Ventures, with participation from Anorak Ventures, New York Ventures, Ludlow Ventures, Balaji Srinivasan, and Soona Ahmaz. The seed funding will be used to accelerate product development, enhance feature integration, and expand operational capabilities.
