ICAO has launched the Global Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Academic Paper Competition in the lead up towards the AAM 2024 Symposium, 9-12 September 2024. The competition seeks to engage students in exploring various aspects of AAM, including, but not limited to, technology, safety, regulation, urban planning, legal considerations, and sustainability.
Promoting the theme Advancing AAM Solutions, the competition highlights focus areas including infrastructure design, electric propulsion, traffic management, human-centered design, urban planning, AI, regulatory frameworks, cybersecurity, and societal acceptance.
The competition is open to Master’s and PhD students, and final-year Bachelor’s students.
The winning paper(s) will be presented during AAM 2024 and considered for submission to the Drone Systems and Applications journal. The winner benefits from a dedicated booth within the academic corner of AAM 2024 and potential consideration for an internship opportunity.
The judges panel includes representatives from National Research Council Canada, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, NASA and SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking.
