Unmanned Airspace is published and edited by Philip Butterworth-Hayes.

Philip Butterworth-Hayes is a consultant and writer specialising in air traffic management, aviation safety, military and civil aviation issues. He was formerly Managing Editor of Jane’s Transport Press and editor of Jane’s Airport Review, Jane’s World Airlines, Jane’s Defence Industries and Jane’s Aircraft Component Manufacturers. He has been the Director of Communications and Strategy at the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation in Amsterdam and is currently the editor of Skyway, the official journal of EUROCONTROL, the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation. He is the editorial director of PMI Media Limited, specialist contract publishers for the defence and aerospace industries, whose clients have included the European Defence Agency and Airbus Defence and Space. He is a regular contributor on ATM and aviation safety issues to global broadcast and print media, including the BBC, CNN and the Wall Street Journal.

Tim Mahon is Publishing Director, Counter-UAS Systems, at Unmanned Airspace.

Tim joined Unmanned Airspace from Military Technology, where he was editor-in-chief. He has over 40 years’ experience in professional sales, marketing and business development roles for major information publishing and consultancy operations – including 10 years living and working in the USA – gaining significant international marketing experience, briefing at all levels from SME to Head of State.

Kylie Bielby has more than 25 years’ experience in reporting and editing a wide range of aviation, defence and security topics. She is an aviation security editor at Passenger Terminal Today and was formerly the transportation security editor at Homeland Security Today. Prior to this, Kylie spent 20 years at Jane’s, contributing to and editing Jane’s Airports, Equipment and Services, Jane’s Air Traffic Control (alongside Unmanned Airspace stalwart Jenny Beechener), Jane’s Airport Review, and Jane’s Homeland Security Review. She also edits non-fiction books and reports, which have included Airports Council International guidebooks and specialist consultancy reports.

Kay Rolland is the commercial manager of Unmanned Airspace and Urban Air Mobility News. She is an international marketing professional, based in Paris.  She has represented Asian Aviation, the leading civil aviation title in the Asia-Pacific region, for ad sales for over 10 years; and Skyway, official publication of EUROCONTROL. Before selling advertising in the aviation industry, Kay worked in corporate events and distribution at The Wall Street Journal Europe and was the founding publisher of the visitor magazine WHERE Paris. Her publishing career has also included representation of a variety of trade titles at Fairchild Publications; and work in media at ad agencies.

Claudia Bacco, Contributing Editor, brings a mix of hands-on aviation industry knowledge, start-up mentoring and corporate leadership experience.

Most recently, she was the Editor for Air Traffic Management magazine, and prior to this led global marketing for Frequentis. At ATM magazine she focused on the connected aspects of the modern aviation industry, such as telecommunications, networks and data management. She grew the coverage of uncrewed aircraft looking at enterprise drone use, drone delivery, urban air mobility and eVTOL.

Claudia has a wealth of corporate marketing, branding & positioning experience within technology companies such as Nokia and Juniper Networks. She brings 20+ years of high tech B2B marketing expertise. 8+ years in aviation. Thought leader – published editor and industry conference speaker. Additionally, she works with startups in the Founder Institute accelerator program mentoring start-ups.
