SESAR Metropolis 2 exploratory research project to develop a unified approach to airspace design and separation management for U-space is hosting a demonstration day on 14 September at Valkenburg Airfield in the Netherlands. Metroplis 2 is focused in particular on strategic separation and tactical deconfliction.
A consortium of eight institutions with wide experience in U-space research are examining safe and robust integration of manned aviation in urban (drone-only) airspace. In addition to flight demonstration sessions and presentations by consortium members, the event will feature the project design parameters; developed concepts; simulation results; and concept evaluation.
