The French Minister of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari has detailed the aeronautical component of the #France2030 Plan, intended to finance the technological roadmap of Corac, the Council for Civil Aeronautical Research, which brings together the industrialists of the sector and the State. “The financing is planned over five years but of the EUR800 million, we commit EUR300 million in 2022,” he said. The goal? Develop, by 2030, a regional, hybrid electric or hydrogen-powered device operational, with a technological demonstrator from 2028.
Among the emblematic projects supported by #France2030, the BioTfuel project, led by two startups Turbotech and Elixir Aircraft and which aims to develop a complete hydrogen cryogenic propulsion system (from the tank to the engine). Another priority project is sustainable aviation fuels. In 2021, a EUR200 million call for projects was launched for demonstrators and pre-university studies. Finally, a EUR100 million call for projects “for emerging players in carbon-free aviation” is launched for two years.
