Fortem Technologies reports a leading US communications provider has purchased the SkyDome System to protect against unwanted drones. The purchase includes the company’s TrueView R-30 ground-based radar and SkyDome Manager software.
According to the company press release, the TrueView active electronically scanned phased array radar (AESA) offers low size, weight and power consumption (SWaP-C). With a powerful combination of multi-channel beamform on receive, 16 digital channels, and multi-dimensional deep learning, TrueView radar can discern patterns of life and anomalies in the scene in order to accurately identify targets. It delivers 3D detection of targets using real-time AI at the Edge and graphics processing unit (GPU). A key component of the SkyDome System, TrueView easily scales for complete coverage in topologically complex environments.
“Drones are an efficient way to perform many operations,” said Timothy Bean, CEO of Fortem Technologies. “SkyDome with AI-at the edge delivers industry leading, clean detection and reliable categorization of objects in the airspace so there is no harm.”
