The drone section of the Aviation Safety Network ASN Drone Database, an exclusive service of the Flight Safety Foundation (www.flightsafety.org), now contains over 3,700 reports of unmanned aircraft (UAS) sightings from pilots and airprox occurrences involving UAS and aircraft. The database contains 17 descriptions of suspected and confirmed drone collisions with aircraft.
In 2017 so far the following collisions have been recorded:
- On 1 November a Boeing 737-887 of Aerolineas Argentinas near Buenos Aires-Jorge Newbery Airport, Argentina, was involved in a confirmed collision with drone.
- On 28 October a Lange Antares 20ED, operated by a private operator, in Hillegom, South Holland was involved in a confirmed collision with drone.
- On 12 October a Beechcraft A100 King Air operated by SkyJet seven miles from Québec City, Canada, was involved in a confirmed collision with drone.
- On 21 September a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk operated by the US Army above Staten Island, New York, New York, USA was involved in a confirmed collision with consumer drone.
- On 13 February a Piper PA-280 near Sedona, Arizona, USA was involved in a suspected collision with drone.
- On 20 January a Kamov Ka-32 helicopters near Santiago, Chile, was involved in a confirmed collision with a drone.
