Eurocontrol forum addresses challenges and opportunities ahead for urban air mobility

Eurocontrol is hosting a stakeholder forum on 4 February 2021 featuring key players within and outside the urban air mobility industry. During the 90-minute webinar, speakers will share their opinions and views on three topics:

  • The role Urban Air Mobility (UAM) can play in future mobility improvements to enhance lives of people living in urban environments;
  • challenges of integrating UAM vehicles in current airspace (controlled and un-controlled) and
  • the role played by major UAM stakeholders.

Moderator Munish Khurana, Eurocontrol Business Development lead comments: “Urban air mobility (UAM) takes inter-city and intra-city transportation into the third dimension. But how will it impact existing aviation? Is it sustainable? And what is holding back UAM in Europe?”

Panelists include: Parimal Kopardekar, Director of NASA’s Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI); Dr Joerg P. Mueller, Managing Director of Airbus’ subsidiary Urban Mobility GmbH; Antoine Martin, Programme Director of DSNA’s new ATM/U-Space Services in France; and Kim Silander, CEO and founder of Independent Business Group, Sweden.
