Logistics operator Blue Dart has partnered with Skye Air to start drone deliveries in India.
Blue Dart had previously conducted visual line of sight trials in Hyderabad in 2021 and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) trials under the Telangana Government’s Medicine from the Sky initiative as part of a consortium with Skye Air.
The announcement comes as Skye Air raised USD4 million in a funding round led by Mount Judi Ventures, Chiratae Ventures, Venture Catalyst, Windrose Capital and Tremis Capital. Faad Capital, Misfits Capital, Hyderabad Angels, Soonicorn Ventures and other existing investors also participated. Skye Air said the funds will be used to expand its last-mile network in Gurugram and other cities for healthcare, e-commerce, and quick-commerce deliveries.
